Conversations Recital
Music is a conversation. Between composer and performer, between one musician and another, and between the past and the present.
Conversations explores these relationships through the expressive voice of the classical guitar.
Some conversations unfold through melody and harmony. Others emerge through the interplay of musical ideas, the tension between voices, or the silence separating one phrase from the next.
In this recital, I invite you to listen beyond the notes—to hear the questions, responses, disagreements, and moments of understanding that give music its humanity.
After more than 35 years of performing and teaching classical guitar, I remain fascinated by music's ability to communicate what words cannot.
Thank you for joining me for Conversations.
After the Last Note is dedicated to thoughtful performances, musical discovery, and the enduring expressive possibilities of the classical guitar.

Looking forward to playing the opening at the museum, what a great place.
Sanctuary Recital
A sanctuary is not always a place. Sometimes it is a sound, a memory, a few minutes of stillness—or something we return to when the rest of the world has become too loud. Sanctuary is the second recital in my After the Last Note series: an exploration of music not simply as performance, but as a place of refuge, reflection, and return. This program moves across five centuries of music for the guitar and its predecessors, from the quiet gravity of the Spanish Renaissance to the intimacy of Tsumeki, the classical variations of Giuliani, the extraordinary musical world of Manuel Maria Ponce, and finally the great arc of Agustín Barrios Mangoré’s La Catedral PROGRAM Luis de Narváez (c. 1500–c. 1555) Canción del Emperador Issay Tsumeki Serene Summer Nights Mauro Giuliani (1781–1829) La Folía — Theme and Variations Manuel M. Beginnings Recital
After the last note there is a moment when the music ends and silence returns. For me, that silence is never empty. It is where reflection begins. Beginnings is the first recital in a journey through the classical guitar. I hope that long after the final note has faded, something of the music remains with you. Program • Issay Tsumaki – Deity's Dance • Napoleon Coste – Two Studies from his Guitar Method • Matteo Carcassi – Five Studies from Op. 59 • Francis Cutting – Greensleeves • Hans Neusidler – Hie folget ein welscher tantz wascha mesa • Gaspar Sanz – Selections • Francisco Tárrega – Recuerdos de la Alhambra Thank you for listening.
